I ordered all of mine years ago. I'm curious what a "reasonable gun show price for a Garand" might be. The phrase sounds a bit like an oxymoron.
The garands I saw were all $1500+. I dunno which ones were CMP, maybe the dude that had like 12 of them on the table? But I remember seeing the price tags go into the $2ks on some of them

Admittedly , I was paying no attention to specifics other than overhearing vendor opening up with $1,250 from a tag price of $1,295 .

I saw several at one table. I think one was $1300, the other was $1800. I did not look closely at them and do not know any details.

Those prices sound more realistic, depending on the rifles.

I really don't know what's reasonable on the non-CMP market these days.

I saw several instances where the identical gun was $200 or more less at SCSG's table.
The reason some dealers charge crazy prices is that they know someone will pay it. One and done customer. They done care. I see it an every show I go to. I have been using a Sub 2K as the standard. One table, $495, another $695, and there is always the nut who has it marked $895 for a $350 rifle. Some poor fool will not know any better and buy it at an inflated price. I still go to shows but rarely buy a firearm unless the price is realistic. Read SCSG. I do however get parts and if priced right, ammo.
That said, it also costs the dealers money to attend the show. Not the table fees, but labor is the killer.

I see him at most of the local shows with his garands and carbines. Ludicrous prices! I doubt he’s sold a single rifle in a long time. I always get a chuckle when I walk past his table

I was thinking about the shows at HoCo back in the "good old days". I carried a few guns home from there.
I bought a Ruger Mini-14 GB at a show there just over 10 years ago. RIP Lou45. He was one of a kind.
    My how times have changed.

I only went to support the show. There were some decent ammo prices, but overall the show sucked. It had the fewest gun dealers of any show in recent memory.

I picked up one a few months back and not a CMP. I paid $1000 and thought that was high. It is not the prettiest but I wanted one as one of the few military rifles I didnt have. Hard to believe the prices now,

There were 2 other shows this weekend, one in Harford county and one in Chantilly. I believe there were some normal vendors doing those shows.

The gun dealers should coordinate their efforts to produce meaningful shows without having the extraneous crap. The promoters certainly don't give a damn.

I went today, only thing I found were some people really need to take a shower or two before they go out in public.
