New member here; I've found this site very helpful to get a feel for the MSP backlog and thought I'd finally join.

I'm pretty new to this; actually I've always been pretty afraid of guns, but after some encouragement from another female coworker, I decided to conquer my fear and get educated about them and how to use them. Imagine my surprise to discover it was FUN!

I'm really enjoying growing in my knowledge about firearms and have had the benefit of a very patient NRA instructor who has been a big help. Looking forward to the day Continental calls me to let me know my "not disapproved" has finally come in!

It's nice to see that someone can conquer their fear by just investigating the thing that they are afraid of.
It seem obvious but, many would not take the steps you just did.

Yeah, I wish I could get some of my gun-hating friends to do the same thing. I have been afraid to tell my sister about my new "hobby" because she is so violently opposed to all things "guns". But I feel if she knew all the things that responsible gun owners do to keep themselves and others safe, she might feel differently. On the flip side, I wish more of my gun-loving friends would avail themselves of some basic safety instruction.
