Hello,

I'm Alejandro with Blue Customworks. I'm a type 7 FFL Manufacturer and I'm offering laser engraving services including NFA engraving, P80, 80% Lower Serializing (ATF method, MSP Compliant).

I charge $45 per gun, $40 if you bring 5 or more.

I accept card and cash.

Bring friends and family to combine theirs for pricing. They have to come in person with gov issued photo ID.

You can visit me at one of the designated gun events I'll be laser engraving at or we can schedule an appointment at my shop in Finksburg, MD.

*I cannot hold NFA items overnight.

What is the process for you. I assume you log them into your bound book? I see and agree MSP is not requiring registration. Is there anything federally? Do they get a NICS check? Looking to understand what is happening on the paperwork end.

What else must me marked or just the serial?

How large a font do you use?

I log them into my bound book and right back out same day when I hand them back to you. I do not need to complete a NICS check because it is considered a gunsmithing service on a gun already owned by you.
I do not submit my records to any system outside of my bound books but my bound books are subject to audit by the ATF.
Federal requirements for PMFs only require the serial number, but all of my customers who bring ARs have preferred I also include "CAL. MULTI"
On P80s I just do the serial number.
For NFA: Name, city, state.
My font is about 1/4 inch on ARs and about 1/8 on P80s.
The minimum req is 1/16.
I also engrave them considerably deeper than the .003 min req.

But if they are polymer, then they would need a metal plate. I cannot hold onto NFA items overnight.

I visited Blue Custom at the HoCo fairgrounds on Saturday to get my P80 frame done. Alejandro did an amazing job... my only "complaint" is that he was so popular that I ended up doing more shopping than I had planned... but my wife wasn't pissed, so win-win. Alejandro was also very nice and communicative (I knew in advance how long the wait was going to be... he actually beat his estimate by a few minutes). He also took the time to show my son his laser (with proper safety glasses of course) to see how it worked.
I would definitely recommend his laser engraving services to anyone... The engraving was very clean and is easy to read. Five stars, two thumbs up.

I do have a question...I have some un-serialized AR lowers I would like to get serialized w/NFA markings so I can apply for a tax stamp on a Form 1. Do you accept shipments to/from other states? If so, how do we go about requesting said markings, arrange shipping, arrange payment, etc. If you don't want to deal with other states, I understand. I still try to support my folks living under oppression when I can.
