OLight Baton 3 rechargeable. Don't look back, I carry one every day, have for a long time. Lasts forever on a charge, side button operated and can be quickly and easily locked out to prevent accidental turn on. Still on the original battery that came with mine when they first came out. I also have two other older models, one not rechargeable, but they rock. Small, pocketable and feature packed for the money. Yes, it's over $30, but you will save that in batteries in no time. ;)

My EDC flashlight is a MAG-LITE LED XL200. It does not fulfill some of your requirements. But those are precisely why I chose it. It has a tail-cap switch. It uses AAA (3) batteries which are available cheap, in quantity, and nearly everywhere. It puts out 230 lumens and has a bunch of other flash and on/off functions. It carries a great warranty and they sell accessories that fit it. Oh yes and MSRP of $44.

I really like this flashlight. Small and bright. Btw, this company makes the second brightest flashlight on the market as well. I have it as well.

Edit: the other plus on this is that the AA sized 14500 Rechargeable Battery has a micro usb port to recharge. Or you can use a AA if needed

Another Steamlight fan here. The ProTac HL-X is my go-to light. The Surefire 6PX Pro is second only because it has a stiff switch and you have to have a good grip on it to activate.

Now I have to buy another FL or 2. If you don't mind green $16.95 on Amazon today. $23 blk.

OP, instead of 3-4 small lights, how about 1 large search light and the smaller ones for edc?

http://www.jetbeamlight.com/products_show279.html This is a rechargable 3650 lumen light about with the same form factor of the old Mag Lights and includes charging USB ports. Very nice for lighting up the yard or woods or things that go bump in the night. Amazon and Battery Junction have them for $189 or so.

Its not exactly what OP is looking for, but I have one of these and LOVE it. Amazon product ASIN B07DLZXZV1250 lumen, Streamlight, rechargable, and plenty bright for shooting, hiking, working under the hood, etc.
The battery is replaceable as well. It's smalle enough to fit in your pocket and be carried all day, every day. It's got a nice clip for clipping onto your hat when working under the hood of the truck, or clipping onto a shoulder epaulet for police work, etc.
I've had mine about 2 years and have zero complaints.

I have a couple Olights and they are both nice. The one is a little complicated with the functions. My favorite flash light has one mode, bright AF, it's a surefire so that is out of the question for this thread. I also have some cheapo Chinese ones that are OK too.
I have a weapon mounted o-light that I used the last 34 months that I was in patrol. At the time, it was cheaper than a box of CR123 batteries, of which my WML needed 2. I rolled the dice, bought it, charged it and took it to qualifications. It performed flawlessly and is WAY brighter than my old Surefire was. Rechargable battery was fantastic. Now that I'm not in patrol anymore, its installed on my home defense LWRC rifle. Plenty bright to reach out 50-75 yards and ID a target.

LOL, I just purchased my 4th Fenix last night, a PD32 V2 with multiple outputs up to 1200 lumens if needed. On sale -10% right now and free shipping. They have always been 100% perfect for me. Controls on the tail, and also tail stand.
They run on (2) CR123 batteries or a single rechargeable. Also available in a single battery version and many others.

I am trying to figure out what to do with my (2) traditional Maglite flashlights, a 4 and a 5 D cell. I’ve had them too long and they’ve been too trusty to just throw away. I think I put a LED conversion on the 5 cell.... but I just don’t need them any longer..

    .
I have a 4 D cell Mag Lite in my truck; and I put the LED conversion in it. It doesn't really make it any brighter. I've also have had my Mag Lite for like forever too. Hard to toss it.

Try buying one of the recent LED conversions off ebay. If you installed the Mag Lite LED, they are junk. The generic ones found on ebay are much brighter and I have never had one fail.

my Maglite LED conversion was purchased years ago from a US company specializing in them, however it too made little difference.

Perhaps they have improved since then..

Just get a decent flashlight and a billy club. You can blind the person while you bludgeon them with the billy club.
