I should soon have a Pistol of my very own and I'd like to get a range bag to hold all my goodies. My question is two fold: 1. What types of bags do you suggest 2. Is there anything missing from my bag?

    My Gun
    Few extra Mags (3-4)
    Speed loader for the mags
    ammo 300 rounds or so
    Ears (Muffs and Plugs)
    Eyes

    What else?
What type of bag will fit all this and leave me room to grow?

    Thx

I use a plain old canvas husky tool bag from home depot. It has inner and outer zippered pockets and plenty of room. You'll find that you will probably need a lot more than that in your bag, depending on what and where you shoot. I keep a couple large ziplocks (for brass), zip ties, a small staple gun and staples (for attaching targets), a leatherman, and a lot more odds and ends in addition to the main items you listed above. If you search around you will find a lot of posts on this subject - some people bring everything but the kitchen sink to the range.

Stapler and staples, paper clips ( the big spring type)
+1 on the cleaning supplies, especially a rod for FTE
    lube
extra eyes and ears ( 2 is 1 1 is none)
tape (to cover holes and reuse target)
pen or pencil and pad ( mark targets for future reference) or take notes about whatever

You might want to add a pair of pliers and a multi-use screw driver. If you don't keep tools in your car/truck.

I use Walmart's Winchester range bag which stores 2 guns and enough space for your other stuffs and a plastic file crate for others stuffs like ammo, targets, stapler, etc.
