I watched the first minute or so to see the detonation...am I really missing out on much if I skip the rest?

Now, spray paint cans in a campfire are a different matter all together...
Or lighter fluid. Cub Scouts as a kid, one of the other kids tossed a mostly empty bottle in the campfire. A few seconds later in the whole campfire turned in to a big fireball.

Never forget that when handling firearms you are handling controlled explosions.

    So, meh?

The 0.0001% time that this will happen, will still happen. Treat it like the statistical anomaly that it is.

The firing pin hits the circle thingy in the back igniting the powder which pushes the bullet out of the gun. I guess he is talking to noobs but his lack of use of proper nomenclature has me scratching my head. It's like that thing with the thing that goes up and is scary. I expected more from Noir.

mythbusters tested this as well, by heating rounds in the oven on a cookie sheet, they managed to crack the glass on the oven door when a round went off. Without a chamber and barrel to focus the energy it is a free for all of wasted energy

    Do bullets really "go off"?

Good post. Low probability event with even lower probability of serious injury. But as said... weird stuff can happen. It reinforces the imperative to be careful and follow all safety protocols.
