what kind of rifles are those girls holding?
Pretty sure it's the rifle sold under the name Tavor here in the states. Importer is out of Harrisburg, PA. A couple MD IP's have had the MD Legal variant for sale on MDS. The new issue is OAL in MD. 16" and 18" are made, but a fixed muzzle brake is still needed to get the needed OAL. Check the threads.

I've seen the wide M60 slings used on M16s (I think). I believe the first image is a Tavor with an M60 sling. Same sling is seen in a later shot with the soldier holding an M240. I've seen this sling or something almost identical for sale at shows listed as an "M60 sling". Since you're looking for an IDF setup and the article is on an IDF unit it's possible. Hope this helps your search.

For some reason they just look different from the Tavor I'm used to looking at.

As not to digress, has the original sling in question been 100% identified?
