If you have been an IDPA member for 6 months or more, & have participated in 6 matches or more, you may want to consider becoming certified to serve as an IDPA Safety Officer.

Here is a note from Cody Claxton's (IDPA Mid-Atlantic Area Coordinator) most recent newsletter email:

DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE DAY OR TWO BEFORE THE CLASS TO TAKE THE TEST!

Col Jeff Cooper's Four Basic Rules of Firearm Safety:
    -All guns are always loaded.
-Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy.
-Keep your finger off the trigger till your sights are on the target.
-Identify your target, and what is behind it.
