Here is another stat for you: 7 of the 10 remaining shall issue carry states are worse than the national average in violent crime. will we see more liberalized carry rules in 2014 to reduce crime

I think you mean "may issue", not "shall issue".

Ask her, from the 30,000 foot level, what is the second amendment about...what does it mean. If she starts to respond by quoting court opinions, jump in and insist that, presuming she read and/or understands the court cases, and has taken them into consideration, what does 2A mean TO HER. Laws and regulations are piecemeal efforts, but where does she see the law going, and why.

Ask her why they're just called "semi automatic rifles" when used by the police, but "assault weapons" when owned by law abiding citizens.

    http://www.gazette.net/article/2013...es-ammunition-using-maryland&template=gazette

While you're on the topic, ask her why the police would need such weapons if they're only meant to "mow down people on the battlefield". If they are in fact a good choice of a weapon if a police office were to be facing a bad guy, why is it not a viable option for a citizen who is much more likely to be facing that same criminal first?

Ask her if requiring the same procedure in order to vote in elections as she helped put in place to buy a firearm would seem like "voting discrimination" to her.

Ask her if she believes that The Firearms Safety Act of 2013 will have any affect whatsoever on the amount of firearms related homicides in the city of Baltimore. There, the vast majority of murders are committed with illegally acquired and carried handguns.

Pull the record from the Senate floor debate on the day SB281 was passed. Ask her why she didn't support any of the Amendments from the republican minority. Such as:

    1. Allowing off duty police officers to carry firearms in schools. (later added to SB281 but she argued against it).

    2. Mandatory sentences for criminals who commit crimes with a gun.

Contact Delegate Delegate 36th District at Maryland General Assembly and President at The Law Offices Of Michael D. Smigiel Sr. for a list of questions to ask.

These are my favorite questions. Too bad I have little doubt the provided answers till be nothing but spin and dodges.

    1. Do she think that is fair to those who do not have computers or are not
computer literate that handgun license application is online only?

    2. Is it fair that those who do not have bank accounts or credit cards that the
that MSP only accepts debit/credit cards to apply for the license?

Even though I may disagree with her on several issues, that doesn't mean she's stupid or an idiot. A difference of opinion is no reason to be disrespectful and doing so can often make things worse.

This is no difference of opinion. She violated her oath of office and infringed on inalienable rights. She needs to have her crimes and complete lack of logic utterly destroyed on air for the benefit of all of your listeners. If her feelings are hurt in that process, so much the better.

Ask her how she thinks low income or the working poor will be able to afford the additional costs? Will this prevent the working poor/low income from being able to exercise their right to bear arms?

    Unofficial elitist response:
They're poor, why would they want to keep living and they certainly don't have anything worth stealing.

Cancel the interview. What good will it do?

She gets airtime to thump her chest. You will not make an impact on her thinking. She is in denial of reality.

Cancel her 1 minute before airtime. Tell her she can come back in 8 days with a RGQL (radio guest qualification license).

As everyone who was in Annapolis fighting SB281 knows, she screwed over her constituents for personal gain. She is a horrible person. If I were you, I would have a barf bag close by for when she is explaining her "opinion".

So I heard from a friend that there were going to be some voting law changes here in the state of MD.

The new requirements are going to include the following:

    1. Take and pass a class that you have to pay for, and travel a great distance to
    2. Pay a fee to get your voters license, and if you don't qualify the fees are non-refundable
    3. Require a picture
    4. Get fingerprinted and pay a fee for that, which also may require your SS#
    5. Submit your fingerprints within 72 hours, else repeat step 4
    6. Go through a background check
    7. List what your race is (White, Black, etc.)
    8. List what your sex is, as well as eye color and hair color
    9. Pay via credit card or check or money order
    10. Complete the transaction online
    11. Expect the voters license to arrive within 30 days, if it doesn't, well wait until it does

Does that sum it up, or was I talking about the wrong Amendment?

Don't play into this guy (op). He is apparently doing a morning zoo type show and is looking for entertainment value. Dumais wouldn't agree to the interview if there was a chance of her getting a real question that requires a real answer.

There have been some good suggestions here; the key is to boil it down.

On the contrary, go ahead and do it, but take the high road. This is a very tough act, but go the Ron "Voice of Reason" Smith route. Treat her with dignity and respect, let her have her say and don't cut her off (I know it will be hard, bite but bite your tongue. I still don't know how Ron did it all those years).

Then, after she spews her predicable left wing drivel, quietly and calmly destroy her with facts. This will take poise and preparedness, but if done right, you could be playing with her like a cat playing with a mouse the way Ron use to do on a regular basis with Ben Cardin and others. WWRSD? (What would Ron Smith do?).

    1. There are many inconsistencies in Maryland gun laws like: AR15s in 5.56/.223 are banned but AR10s are legal; M1As are banned but M1 Garands are not only legal, but can be bought directly from the CMP; mags greater than 10 rounds cannot be bought in the state but can be bought out of state and owned and used here; a fired shell casing must be provided for every new handgun sale, but the MSP don't do anything with them, and the cataloging program was defunded some years ago; etc. How do these MD laws make people safer in light of these inconsistencies?

    2. How does she justify banning many semi-auto rifles when they are used so infrequently in crimes?

    3. Even before SB281 took effect, Maryland had some of the harshest gun laws in the country along with places like Illinois, but cities like Baltimore and Chicago still have ridiculously high murder rates. In light of that, how can she really believe that gun control reduces gun violence?

    4. Why does she think so many Marylanders bought new guns this year as the SB281 effective date was approaching?

    5. How does she justify imposing new restrictions on law-abiding gun owners when the vast majority of gun crimes are committed by criminal gun users? How will restrictions on legal gun ownership keep guns away from criminal gun users?

    6. What does she say to a poor, single mom in East Baltimore who lives in a violent neighborhood and genuinely needs a handgun to defend herself and her children but who is now facing hundreds of dollars of expense and many hours of time in order to get a license before she can even consider buying a gun for self defense?

    7. What does she think should be next gun control steps for the legislature?
