New addition purchased from J2 Defense, now a premier Kimber dealer and lots of inventory. I should be able to pick it up next Saturday. Shot a friend's Micro and decided I need to add a 9mm to my collection to diversify. Only comes with one mag so I purchased an additional one too. No Tupperware except for the grips with ambidextrous safety.

Just came back from the gun shop,
(was looking for a Beretta PX4 SC in .40)
and the manager said he won't stock .40 pistola's.
    The round is dead.?
Only thing selling is 9mm, so that's what he stocks.
I was shocked! Is that the general consensus?
Is .40 and .45 DOA? Did I get that old?
Why does this topic come up over and over and over again, repeatedly?

I go to Bass Pro online and have 37 options for 40S&W. For .38SPL there are 16 including +P. For 357Mag there are 10. Which calibers are dead?
40,38spl, and 357mag calibers are dead. Why do you think there's so much availability?

calibers are dead when very limited loadings are available on special order - and when guns chambered for them become sparse or tossed sside. Have you looked at the line up of S&W and Riger revolvers in 38 and 357? Both calibers are alive and well.

Lotsa guns out there in the three listed calibers…someone is buying that ammo. I buy 40 and shoot it. For just the single gun I own.

    My observations.

357 SIG is not dead but it seems to be on life support. Ammo of any kind is lots harder to find and more expensive than 40.

    Until there's a panic.

During covid 9mm skyrocketed and then disappeared. Several shows I attended had no 9mm to be found, .40 at stupid expensive prices, and .357 at the same normal expensive prices it was pre panic... which was much lower than the new prices on 9 and .40.
