    To my knowledge, it's not legally classified as an "assault weapon" It has to have 2 of the 3 fratures: Folding stock, grenade/flare launcher, or flash hider/suppressor. Not to be confused with suppressor. The device on the end of the barrel doesn't look like a flash hider/flash suppressor, so you're good. If the gun is inherited from a "lawful" owner, then you're exempt. The so-called "Assault Weapon" ban is under Marylanf Criminal Law Article Section 4-303. Just to be clear, don't take this as legal advice.
