Four inches isn’t a lot for some, but for her it was just too much. I couldn’t just keep looking at her and not do anything, so tonight I finally took a chance and put my hands on her. A fellow member on here named “easy” consented to helping, I took what he gave me and lubed it real well.
I clamper her between two pieces of wood in my bench vise. I didn’t care to be any more careful then that, because she’s a cheap dirty girl after all. She measured right at 20” when I started. I gave myself a tad bit of room in case of error. It took a little longer with the hacksaw then I thought, but likely due to cheap Amazon blade. Once the initial cut was made, I hit it with some 320 on a block just to see what was up. Then I used the squaring tool from “easy”. Again took a little longer then I thought to work out all the unevenness, but it got it done. I again hit it with 320 then some 800 for a nice finish. But, I wasn’t done yet. Next moved on to the 11” crown. This I didn’t get crazy with, and probably could have done more/gone deeper, but I wasn’t getting very far by hand so I kind of lost patience.
To finish it all off I had some blueing compound still from my last Glock project. A few coats, and now you can barely tell this thing was modified by some hack in his garage.
Again, because she’s a cheap dirt girl (Rossi RB22M, bolt action 22WMR) I ordered a $29 fixed power scope from Amazon.
Will my DIY hack job on my $170 gun with a $29 scope be able to even hit the broadside of a barn? I’ll find out soon enough… hope you all enjoy the pics.
