I still stand by what I said, I would offer $200. I personally dont think they are worth more.
I finally got a chance to go look at those mausers today. They were Mitchell's. They looked really nice tho. One had a few nazi markings on it but you could tell its really been worked on. The other had what looked like Russian markings on it and looked alot nicer IMO. The nazi one looked like it had 2 riflings in the barrel. It just didnt look right. Now mind you I am by far no expert. The russian(?) had a nice clean looking rifling and the bolt handle was angled down to allow for a scope.
According to the paperwork that came with it it is a Yugoslavian m48. If the c.o.a. that came with is real and truthful it was never issued and all the numbers match from what I can tell.
Got the stupid pics to load. So here she is. I don't know why the one pic came out lighter than the other. It was take the same way as the other. All I did was open the bolt and flip it over. View attachment 100567 View attachment 100568
I'm gonna go with the c.o.a . is crap. It says the rifle was made in the 40's with all matching parts but it has m48a stamped on it. According to wikkipedia if it's accurate Yugoslavian m48a's were made in the 50's. I don't know. There is a bunch of writing with a 44 after it and it's hard to see in the pic but the Yugoslavian crest on it has 1943 on it. Oh well. It's gonna get as much Ammo down its tube as I can my hands on. Mitchells may have messed with the history and collectibility, but if it shoots straight, you got a helluva nice rifle for $200. Sometimes thats all that matters
