Air cooled 911 would be sweet, but $$$$. I was looking into a 240Z or a 928 or maybe even a 914 and putting a flat 6 in it.
they make a kit so you can put a Subaru (think WRX STi) engine in a Boxster or Cayman. You can get an old Boxster for a song.

    Sorta off topic.

Looking for some handrail iron work repair, I have a few rusted feet that need to be cut off and new ones welded in.

    Porsche already did that. 914/6

2.0 six out of the 911.

Yeah, but go try to find a 914-6 for a decent price. I would rather do it myself.

WRX engine would be fun in a 2000 lb car! Not too interested in a Boxster, Cayman sure.

Real 914/6s were avail for cheaper than what a proper /4 to /6 conversion would cost you up until just a couple years ago. It is *NOT* a cheap conversion to do right. The prices of /6s have doubled (or more) since. I have a real 1970 /6. Don't have the orig matching engine though:( so its becoming a decent GT clone.

That was dangerous to research. There are some nice builds.

Early '00 Boxsters going for well under $10,000. Wild.

Wow. Wits End priced it - with a caveat for even more- beyond the price of buying a painted, reinforced sub-frame and having it shipped from CA and sending my core back!!!!

A member here is going to help me out with this one. Thanks guys.

Why would ANYONE want to put a Sube into a Porsche????????

Why not put a 911 engine in it. :)

But the Factory 5 818 looks like fun. :)

I live in Arnold and drive a TiAg E46 M3 (dark wheels, coils, loud exhaust...) but I am big into E30's. I have a couple friends who have boosted or cross chassis swapped their e30's and a few of them weld or know real nice welders. If you still need someone you can trust with the chassis, let me know.

Ps post a picture of your car!

An overdue, public recognition of a generous and skilled member... chevellenut71. Incredibly kind.

Thank you for the welding on now two pieces...and even stopped over to help drop in a motor !!!

M30 swap in an E30. Garagistic front frame reinforcement tabs..better able to wear the increase in torque.

Already thinking of my next project.

Check Sarli Motorsports in Millersville. He's done several E30 conversions so he's very familiar with those conversion. Plus he can fab up just about anything you need. Good guy, too. His number is (410) 987-7467 and he's located off Veterans Highway by the AACOPD headquarters.
