For every private property that states “no firearms” that includes law enforcement. Additionally they must provide a “gun check” service or self service lockers.
We need to get it addd to the law, that the property needs to be posted (including private property to include homes, apartments, clubs, etc.) Once they realize they are now a free robbery zone, maybe they will think twice. (but I doubt it)

You're on to something. It only makes sense that LEOs, SAs and DAs aren't going to want to get into a pissing contest over whether a property was properly posted or not. That ambiguity would descend into chaos. No, there needs to be an authoritative repository of locations that are "gun free zones." The State should create a registry of such places. Perhaps the Maryland State Police could oversee such an operation. I'm certain police officers would readily welcome the ability to query the registry prior to entering a property - a "gun free zone" indication in the registry would virtually guarantee that there are no firearms are on the premises, thus ensuring officer safety and reducing risk to all. Individuals could query the registry before departing on their journey, ensuring compliance with the property status.

Keep it simple - a $10 fee to register ... after taking the informative class on how to use the system, of course. Property owners who complete the course could be issued a small wallet-sized card that they could show to authorities should there be a question about who is authorized to make declarations about the property status.

I foresee a nightmare issue of having to check some kind of registry before entering any sort of private property.

Big printed notice at entrances would be OK; it would be amusing to see the neighborhoods plastered with gun-free signage, alongside the BLM and We Believe signs.

A cross between "Burn Me Last" and "Rob Me First" . . . which one applies today?

But seriously . IF it actually becomes a big thing about prohibited areas , look to Texas as a model .

To be legally enforceable as a no go zone , signs must be a certain size , located at certain height , located in certain proximity to Every entrance or means of access , And use exact wording(s) as specified in state law .

    “States have a Constitutional right…”

    BAAAAAAAAAhahahahahahaaha!!

Yes, granted to them by The Creator.

    Are these stupid fucks lawyers?
The fundamental misconstruing of what the Constitution does here should be grounds for immediate removal from office.

The state has ZERO Constitutional rights except for the right to eff off.

Also the type font must be as specified. If the sign misses any of the specifics you are free to carry on the premises as if there was no sign at all.

It is a press release. Is that not enough

The URL says all you need to know

And if you don’t care, why comment?

Please post in the nitpick forum with Blaster

Touchy, touchy, touchy... if you re-read what I posted, I said absolutely nothing negative about you. I agree if only a link is posted, the reader can determine whether they want to click on it or not... and also mention that I'm ok with doing it either way. My comment had to do with apparent different treatment of members depending on their post count.

Brief: States Should Be Able to Enact Laws Restricting Firearms on Private Property

The State and Federal government ARE Not responsible for anything. Inclusive is Safety.

    By Publius Huldah.

It is the dogma of our time that proponents of government safety net programs hold the moral high ground. Accordingly, Democrats preen over their own “compassion”; and Republicans chime in that they too “believe in safety net programs”.

But safety net programs are unconstitutional and immoral. They are unconstitutional because “charity” is not one of the enumerated powers of the federal government.

They are immoral because they are based on a fabricated system of man-made anti-rights which negate the Rights God gave us.

We already have a law on the books. Just requires Blue OIL BASED paint. " Posting property boundaries in a conspicuous manner makes it illegal to trespass or for any person to enter without the landowner’s permission. Maryland law allows the use of blue paint stripes and/or signs to indicate private property boundaries. Vertical paint marks at least 2 inches in width and 8 inches in length must be centered at least 3 feet, but no more than 6 feet, from the ground or water surface. The paint must be oil-based and bright blue."
