Just recently acquired a K31 and was wondering what current K31 owners use to clean, lubricate, and preserve their rifles.

I gather the Swiss used Waffenfett or Automatenfett grease for cleaning, lubicating, and storage. Is this what you use? Or do you use current cleaning and preservation products like CLPs, Hoppes, etc. I have a tube of Automatenfett, but never really considered using grease the clean a bore or receiver. (My inclination is to use the Automatenfett for lublicating the bolt and maybe storage but use a solvent for cleaning.

    Thanks!

I use Hoppes for the bore and chamber, then G96 gun treatment to finish cleaning and preserve. Before taking to the range, I'll oil the bolt assembly contact parts within the receiver and the bolt.

clp down the barrel, clp on springs and frog lube on the rails.

Yea u heard me right..frog lube..check out how much smoother the friction points are when u slap some on the lugs and rails.

I have a number of Swiss firearms and for decades, the only products I've used on them are as follows:

    1. Hoppes No.9 for cleaning.
    2. Automatenfett for lubrication
    3. Breakfree CLP initially but Eezox later for metal protectant. The CLP works just fine but I found that the Eezox doesn'r leave the oily film and works just as well so I switched to that.
