News from the There Oughtta be a Law Dept:

California, with some of the most strict gun laws in the country, had the most, with eight such mass slayings. But nearly half of U.S. states experienced a mass slaying, from big cities like New York, to tiny towns like Elkmont, Alabama, with a population of just under 475 people.

But it cant be, New York and Commiefornia have all the best gun laws! I thought Gov Newsom made gun control great again!

[James Densley, a criminologist and professor at Metropolitan State University in Minnesota] believes it’s partially a byproduct of an “angry and frustrated time” that we are living in. Densley also said crime tends to go in waves with the 1970s and 1980s seeing a number of serial killers, the 1990s marked by school shootings and child abductions and the early 2000s dominated by concerns over terrorism.

He and James Alan Fox, a criminologist and professor at Northeastern University, also expressed worries about the “contagion effect,” the focus on mass killings fueling other mass killings.

huh, angry and frustrating times and "contagion effect" (aka, trying to get famous by one-upping an infamous deed).

I don't know how "we need more laws" failed to be inserted by the AP censors...

Hey Gov Blackface, are you paying attention? Virginia barely made the news. Hurry up with gun control so VA can make it to this list!

I blame politicians and jurists and the media. They are the root of this evil.

Ignore the below, I now know jurists are the lawyers. I do try to learn something new every day. I can go back to sleep now...

I’d add, with all due respect, attorneys. Light prosecutions and aggressive defense lets too many off easy that should not be out in public. fred55

Restrictive gun laws follow the same line as socialist agendas. No matter how many times they fail, you provide as many facts and as much logic as you like but the gun grabbers will ignore you and keep wasting their time.

Funny you mention that. One of my talking points was please don't make Richmond the next Baltimore. :innocent0
