Two blank subtitles, not a good sign, those are for more onerous amendments to be added after the public hearings, I'm sure.

Respondents must pay a storage fee to the police.

Respondents probably won't get pre fsa2013 firearms back.

Fraudulent petitions are a misdemeanor, with no penalty.

Yeah, false reporting guilty of a misdemeanor doesn’t do much if there is no penalty behind it. How about up to 1 year in prison and a $5,000 fine.

Also why the hell does the respondent have to pay the storage costs? It’s the state taking your crap for “everyone’s protection” and then sticks you with the bill? The state should eat those costs. Full stop.

I am not entirely against this. I know it’ll be abused at some point, so I’d like to see a HELL of a lot more protections. But I have to admit, there are some cases where this would probably have prevented murders.

As this is written, nope. Nope. Nope. Giant big nope.

    This Already Exists

Anyone read this proposed bill and thought about it? For or againsr? Why, please. Any changes u might ask for?

Against. This law already exists. A person seeking an ex parte can request that firearms be seized. This is nothing more than hype created by politicians seeking another term. It means nothing and will change nothing (other than ADDING problems to an existing law).

The storage fee is a way for them to keep said firearms without having to pay you for them. Oh we don't have proof you paid, so that qualifies as forfeiture.
