Ruger finally seems to be producing the Ruger American Ranch in 7.62x39 again; they are coming back in stock at a number of places. I had been looking for one for over a year, but was unwilling to pay what the sellers on Gunbroker were asking. Now that the price is back to a reasonable level, I finally got one ordered. Time to pick a scope for it.
I was thinking of getting a 3x9 Leupold VX-Freedom with the "Custom Dial System" (CDS), and having dials made for a standard 123 gr FMJ load, a 150 gr SP hunting load, and a (still TBD) subsonic load.
Has anyone used the CDS dials in this "adjust for load" manner? Will the system hold up to repeated dial swaps? Anything I'm missing?
