I have an Odin works barrel and low profile gas block with set screws. Odin Works states it is not necessary to dimple the barrel - but they say nothing about loctite. Do you guys recommend loctite? If so which kind? Thanks.

Personally, I pin the block. Safest way of securing it IMO.

Now for whatever reason, if I wasn't to pin the block - then I'd preferably dimple the barrel for at least 1 set-screw, and use Rocksett. Like Loctite, but good up to 2200 degrees (IIRC).

^^^This. Locktite is heat 'soluble'. Never use it on anything that gets hot.

Rocksett sounds like a good plan - I just read that it is strong enough but still allows removal of the set screws should I decide to do so later on down the line. Yeah the Odin Works barrel comes with their gas block and gas tube.

I am a little leery of dimpling as I do not have a drill press.

Don't use a drill press. Use a hand drill. The most important thing, going forward, is to make sure the gas ports on barrel and block are perfectly aligned before pinning or dimpling. Bore scope is a necessity in this operation. I would recommend just rocksetting it until you find someone with a bore scope. There are a couple members on here who have them.

Dont drill that gas block. Test it first.

I have seen a good amount of problems from that brand gas blocks. They bleed too much gas.
