M&P 15 Sport..Legal?

The M&P 15 Sport is NOT an HBAR. That barrel gets thinner under the Handguard

Seriously, there are enough true HBARs out there, is it really worth it? I have the Sport, and it's a great gun, but I wouldn't class it as an HBAR. You have plenty of other choices out there.

I just wanted a second opinion on this, I have been told this was a HBar. Just want to make sure....

Told by whom? A Maryland FFL dealer?

If an out-of-state dealer would sell me that rifle as an HBAR in his shop, I would buy it. The problem is being sure the Maryland dealer will sell it to you as an HBAR.

The model number jvegas (IP here) will transfer as an HBAR is Model: 811036 (from Bud's Gun shop)

The number from PSA is MFR#: 811036

Your good to go Trbo6gn, except PSA won't ship the 30 rounder.

There are as many or more FFLs who won't do the transfer due to concern over the legality as there are who will. I still think this is a gray area. I'm not personally comfortable with gray areas when it comes to firearms.
