Yes, they are available.... However, from my impression the first batch sold out quickly. I found a few on Gunbroker.com for 399.00. Buds gun shop also had them for a short time. And, yes, it is just like a p22 only with a longer barrel. The only main difference that I can make out is the fact that it takes different magazines than the Walther p22. Here is the link again to the vids on youtube:

Word has it in the rumor mill that Apex might be working on a high quality conversion kit.

Darn it, some one beat me to it... It looks really nice. I have been drooling over the reviews on youtube for months now. I just have to come up with the money to get one now.

Walther is making them for Smith.
I first saw one in Sept. at Smith's M&P armorers school.
Looks like a well made pistol and should fit just fine in the M&P lineup.
I think I'll wait a while to make sure there are no bugs and to let demand die down a bit.

Did my paperwork at 2ASales yesterday. They had a couple more as of yesterday.

    Made by Walther
    Very easy to field strip
No you cannot get them without the thumb safety .
    The thumb safety is ambi.
They all have mag disconnect safety .
They have two "models": one comes with 12rnd mag and one comes with 10rnd.
    Threaded adapters are readily available.

Now I'm just waiting for my Form 4 to come back on a spectre!

I just got my paperwork started on this today... The weapon seems solid... I can't wait to get it to the range.
