There is no integral lock... Im sure there is an omega lock thats made for 22's, but "i had one at home" so i didnt get one. The barrel is the same as the p22 just a bit longer. And, for those who who wonder, it shoots just fine for a 22.... I swear I shoot my m&p9 better when I warm up with the m&p22 first...

This months Handloader Magazine, has a test run, and details on the M&P 22.

It is made in Germany by Walther - does NOT have a interchangable backstrap, like the full sized M&Ps.

The material stated is both Polymer, and Alloy. The slide is stated as "Aluminum-Aerospace Alloy"

Also the barrel is non removable -but is threaded for accessories like a suppressor.

Another difference - it is not Striker Fired like other M&P's - instead has hammer/firing pin system contained within the gun.

They did state some failure to eject with certain ammo on the test run.

I am interested in getting my wife a .22 handgun. I just started looking last week online at a couple Sig models. Was at the timonium gun show saturday and spotted one of these m&p .22's. I am curious to know what feedback if any, people have on it .

Id say Im happy with mine. Ive only put about 100 rounds through it.

    "complaints"
came with a 10 rnd mag but that is an easy fix, just take apart mag and remove the stopper

Sights seem off, a little low and to the left. I think I would like to put some fiber optic ones on

Mags are kinda pricey and hard to find

I cant wait to got out with it again!

I've had mine for about 3 months now and have shot about 500 rounds through it with only one failure to eject. It came with one 12 round magazine, but I bought 2 more from Natchez Shooters Supplies. I absolutely love it. It always goes to the range with me no matter what other guns I my be taking.

I bought one a week ago Saturday from Atlantic Guns in Rockville; hope to pick mine up tomorrow or Tuesday -- assuming the state po-po give a thumbs-up. This is my first handgun purchase.

I bought a Mossberg 500 12 ga. shotty in February, and a Marlin Model 60 .22 in March.

Guess that puts me at a one-gun-a-month clip... pun intended.

    ;-)

I bought one of these last Thursday. I love my M&P 9, so I thought this would be a good little brother to the 9mm.

The June issue of Shooting Times which is out already (and it's not even May yet), has an article on the M&P 22. They did a comparison with different ammo and got their best groups with Federal Gold Match 40 grain solid.
