After reading about the improved ergonomics provided by grips with a reduced angle, I decided to try out the BCM Gunfighter Mod 1 grip. Using it at the range a few times and a couple carbine matches, I found the reduced angle was much more comfortable, but there wasn't quite enough material at the web of my [size large] hand. It felt like I was choking up too much and even torqueing the firearm clockwise. Then I saw the Magpul K2. With the additional material at the web of my hand, it seemed perfect. Fast forward several months and I finally have a few of them to play with.
Compared to the BCM Mod 1, it is a more full grip. I prefer the feel of the K2. The texture is also more aggressive. I prefer the texture of the BCM to the K2. I also like the hinged floor plate of the BCM over the K2's plug. The K2 plug also takes a lot more effort to remove and is possible, though not likely, to be lost.
Compared to the Magpul MIAD:
Also worth mentioning is the grip screw. Uses either a standard driver or a 3/16" hex. A welcomed change from slotted only that the older grips like the AK grip I just bought and the MIAD. Made installation just a bit easier since the bolt will sit on the hex driver while being moved into place.
Based on the few minutes I spent checking them out and swapping the grips out, I satisfied with the K2 and look forward to using them.
