Magpul Remington 700 bottom metal(plastic)

I just got my hands on the new bottom metal from Magpul and am about to test fit it on a few different 700 rifles. I will be reporting back in about 2 hours to let you know if it's a direct bolt on fit for any of them. First up is an HS stock.

It's a no go on any stock I've tried, H-S, wood BDL, and SPS Hogue stock. The front end of the bottom metal is too wide and a little too long to fit in the standard cut out. I think it would be possible to fit in these stocks, but it's going to take some work.

While it's a bit of a downer, I don't think it should come as a totally unexpected outcome.

Magpul put the time and $$ into the magazine well and stock, so it makes perfect sense that it'd be a true drop-in fit in their stock.

Never hurts to try though.

Not unexpected, but I figured it was worth a try. Depending on how it works with the Magpul stock I still may order one for my HS stock rifle and custom fit it.
