12 ga. side by side double with damascus barrels, exposed hammers ...

    What to do?

It is a rehab project for someone. The right side hammer is missing and the action is frozen or blocked.
The stock is original but lacks the butt-plate.
    The left side functions.
The barrel to receiver lock up is firm with very little movement.
No major scars or dings to the metal parts.

I am trying to post pictures but this $&^$*&^%$*&^ is not allowing me to transfer them. :mad54: :mad54: :mad54:
I'll try again when I cool off...

    In practical terms , Wallhanger.

IF you enjoyed working on old shotguns for fun , AND you would enjoy bragging right from using an origional gun in BP class of SASS , then proceede to next flow chart -

Hopefully the action doesn't want to open because excess oil and grease have congealed. Soak for a week in Kroil or other prefered "stuff" , and see if action will free up. If it does , great. If things inside the action are broken or rusted together , then definite wallhanger.

take action apart to inspect and clean it. If ok, make another hammer.

Damascus barrels and age require someone very familiar with older shotguns to inspect and verify safe to shoot with low pressure BP loads. Personally, I relegate to to a good clean up and make it a mancave, handle able wall hanger.

How much? I paid $12 for a hammerless one that didn't have a stock. More than willing to pay full retail on that one.
$17 is the last advertised retail price I've seen. :innocent0

Very cool old gun. It would make a neat refurb project and then a wall hanger. I remember when I first learned about Damascus vs reg steel barrels. My 8th grade home room teacher brought in 2 shot guns to show the class and explain it. We all got to handle them. That was in update NY. Can you imagine that happening in the US today?

    Tacti-cool Home Defense Gun!

Replace stock with collapsible M-4 type, solder on Pitcanny rails on all 4 sides, black Cerakote all surfaces, install laser, light and Trijicon optics!

    Just kidding. Wall hanger.
