    Want to break in a 700 LTR with some 69 grain Match Kings. Don't have a Stoney Point gauge or similar tools and was looking for a AOL starting point.

    Seems short. I load 2.250 with 55's for AR's as it is.

    AR should be at the same length. This is SAMI spec, the size of the bullet has no bearing on the OAL. This measurement will likely not get you just off the rifling but is a base line to start with. This may be the exact length you need based on how the chamber is cut, in a match grade chamber this will probably be on the money but in a commercial rifle it most likely will be well back of the rifling. Without properly measuring your chamber I would recommend not going over this length as it could lead to catastrophic pressures and getting yourself a trip to the emergency room or worse.
