The MCARBO kit (Springs, trigger, trigger guard) came back into stock and I grabbed one.

Most of the videos are for the Gen 2.

Has anyone ever done the upgrades to a Gen 1, and if so are there any "watch outs" (outside of don't lose anything) that you can think of?

I may try to video it, or at least take pictures, but before I get into it, want to make sure there is nothing "weird" I will run into on the Gen 1.

thanks in advance for any/all insight!

I don't think there is anything weird, there was something tricky ... putting the two halves together may have needed special attention .... no worries though.
ICBWrong, it was a while ago but if you can put toast into a toaster ... well that would probably burn but no problems with the gen 1 S2K.

    YES and YES...

When replacing the springs... The sear spring is a grasshopper on steroids. Mind it well and make sure that you are working somewhere that if it jumps... you can locate it easily. It helps if you work under a piece of nylon net so it will catch the spring if it jumps while you're reassembling the frame halves.

--Their video shows removal of the screws from both sides of the frame...
    DON'T... It is not necessary...
--Remove the lock ring from the rear BEFORE removing the frame screws.
Use a rubber strap wrench for it.
--Remove the screws from the right half only. The halves will separate and the screw pins will stay in the left half. Which will allow you to work on it a bit easier.
--When replacing the screws... turn them backward with a slight down pressure, until you feel the threads of the screw drop into the threads of the pin. Then turn them forward. This will keep them from cross-threading.
