VIR (Virginia International Raceway) has a 1,000 yard range available for $125/hr.

I've rented it for a day this coming September. I'll report back here afterwards to let everyone know how it is.

Damn, at first I thought you were referring to RIR, then I looked it up.

I think the VIR 1000yd range is the same one they use for the 3-gun 'tame the tower' events down past the hotel. So some here may have seen it. IIRC, its 800ish from the tower and when you backup and shoot past that its 1000. A couple of us did the 3-gun class there earlier this year and then competed the next day in the event.

I already had 15 people hounding me to find a 1,000 yard range, so the moment I rented it, it was already full.

It's available throughout the year and available to anyone, so I'm really of no special use

I'm hoping that we can get some classes scheduled for 2017, I know there will be a bit of a rate hike but I'm good with that. This class is definitely worth taking twice if not annually! Plus I'm wrapping up my AERO Precision 6.5 Creedmore semiautomatic build, so that adds a bit more incentive to get out there again.
