I purchased them online. And, to transfer to another dealer would also cost me more money that I do not want to spend. The last time I purchased a handgun was thirty years ago. I did take the currently required video course.

I haven't decided if I would sue yet. I'm leaning that way.

If you are not a lawyer or even if you are you never know how any legal action will go.

Not sure if you mentioned what day you purchased. I received an ND on Wednesday for a 5/11 purchase, which is 102 days, but my April 11th purchase took 112 days, so it looks like they may actually be reducing the wait time a bit.

I was talking to a dealer today and he said that they had some big meeting with the MSP about the new law, and basically every question was answered with "I don't know". He said that as far as post Oct. 1st requirements for previous Oct. 1st purchases, MSP couldn't even answer if the new procedures would be required, because basically the state legislature have yet to give any details about the law's implementation. :sad20:

The MSP website says they're only at 5/8 for first review and 4/28 for second. Updated yesterday. It seems you are one of the lucky ones.

I always go into second review (common name) so I may get my 5/14 before 10/1 It's at Continental and there's no way they are releasing without a ND

Sometimes it is better to weigh the financial impacts.... How much will it cost you to transfer to an 8 day release FFL vs. How much will it cost you to sue the Independent Socialist Republic of Maryland and it's anti-gun cronies?

I would think that "discretion" is the better part of valor here.

As of this date, I have not seen or heard any movement or action to hold a referendum to abolish the 2013 Gun Law. (I refuse to call it the Gun Safety Law as it is more aptly called the 2013 Gun Restriction law).

We have passed the date to petition a referendum.

He want's to sue his FFL dealer, not the state of MD.

I know people are pissed at the non-ontime release FFLs and the MSP, but it is anger misplaced. The people responsible for this mess are obviously O'Malley and the state legislature. They passed a non-sensical law and did so out of sheer emotion, not rationalization, and O'Malley did it as a political move to bolster his liberal image for 2016 without concern for what the end results would be.

OK, turned out that my ND did not come in, but Bob at Gunrunners is beginning to release his backlog. They are calling customers starting with the longest wait, so don't bother calling them. There was an hour wait, but they were taking names at the door on a waiting list, so I was able to step outside for a little walk while I waited. Bob just sat in one spot processing paperwork all day. He's determined to get everyone in the queue processed before Oct. 1st.

Congratulations, it feels like winning the lottery. Last week I picked up my 6/15 from Blue Fins when they started releasing on time.

Yeah man! Wife and I got the call last saturday right after he changed his policy. Our app dates were 4/26 and 4/30. I saw on Grits post his app date was 5/25, so Bob is moving Gunrunners along very fast. I'm so glad he came through with the policy change. Such a great guy and I did not want a reason to go elsewhere (been going there for at least 10 years). About to order a long gun from him next week.

I'm not angry at my FFL, YET.
But, if I have to go through all that hassle, it is because of their nonrelease policy. I did nothing wrong. And, the state has agreed in court that the FFLs would not be held responsible if they released on time before the paper work was done. Therefore the added expense to me would be because of the actions of the FFL.

Yes this is all the fault of the Democrats in the state government. But, they can not be sued for doing their job. No matter how screwed up it is!

Have you checked with your FFL since last Saturday? In the recent MSP/FFL meeting, the MSP said that it was OK to release after 8 days, and even gave specific instructions as to additional paperwork and procedure for doing so. A bunch of FFLs that were not releasing began doing so after the meeting. Might be worth a phone call.

I was also told by my FFL that an MSP official said that they were going to make a request to the state not to be involved in transfers after Oct. 1st. I think even THEY have had it with the state legislature for piling so much additional work on them.
