You don't even need to look outside the U.S. Utah, Vermont and Maine are awash in guns (latter two have constitutional carry) but have lower homicide rates than the democrat Utopia cities. Wonder why!!!!

Hold on there chuck. You're trying to look at data. You can't look at data. If you do that you will find that the limiting access to guns for law abiding citizens does nothing to reduce crime or murder rate. Some will tell you that having a gun in your house makes you x times more likely to get shot. Again, don't look at the data.

heh i've always been a fan of these comparisons, if only because you can point out just how much many of the countries they point to, openly lie about their statistics. for 2 prime examples:
Australia, despite it's total ban is experiencing a crime wave. Australia, by their own numbers has had it's violent crime raise 50% in 14 years, then in an attempt to white wash it the pulled some statistics stunts and stopped counting the assaults in half of their states to drop the numbers almost back down to where they were before their total ban in 1996.
    (see page 2)
    http://aic.gov.au/media_library/publications/facts/2012/facts12.pdf

and the UK is no better. UK doesn't include large swaths of it's own nation meaning Scotland and Northern Ireland it's crime statistics, and in the areas here it does supply data, there seems to be a large portion of crime reports missing. according to the UK's Guardian news paper:
"8.9 million crimes were reported in the survey in the year ending December 2012, while the police recorded 3.7 million crimes in this period. "

    http://www.theguardian.com/news/datablog/2011/jul/14/crime-statistics-england-wales
Even then by parliaments own admission: "Figures for crimes labelled as homicide in various countries are simply not comparable. Since 1967, homicide figures for England and Wales have been adjusted to exclude any cases which do not result in conviction" meaning if there is no trial and conviction the crime is not counted, and noting the discrepancies in reported vs recorded, I'm also going to go out on a limb and say there's probably also a difference in crimes recorded and criminals convicted.

To those who say we should be "more like Europe", "less crime", "free health care", "free secondary education", "free" whatever, I say, why settle for an imitation? Move there, enjoy all those "free"bies and low crime rates.
