  • Just brought my new baby home after DCs waiting period. Went with the Mossberg 500. Figured it's a good workhorse to start with. And I get 18 and 26 barrels. So when we going to PG trap and skeet?

You got a good reliable shotgun. (I'm a Mossberg fan.) You chose especially wisely by getting one with the slide tube nut (holding the forend) rather than the pinned forend. Now, you are open to many Mossberg & aftermarket modifications, if you go that way. Its a fine shotgun as is. But, you might want to check Havlin Sales on-line for some Mossberg close-outs, blems & accessories. Sometimes they have some really good deals. Also, if you are going to a pistol grip, I recommend John Masen/Black Warrior (also on line). That grip is wider and more vertical than most, pretty much making you hold the shotgun up, mid-chest or higher for more accurate and less painful shortie shotgun shooting.

Nice pickup! First shotty I ever owned was a 500. Sadly have abandoned the Mossberg market for fit and finish reasons, but it's reliable none the less. Nice pickup!

Nice! I love mine. I've had it for 20 years. I did the same thing as you and Got the longer barrel for some sporting fun. Enjoy!

Grats! Now just TRY and stay away from modifications like a cool set of Magpul furniture. As for PG, I'm there every weekend so maybe I'll see you there!
