So somewhat new to the board, but just installed a bunch of stuff on my 870 today.

It started out basic with the Magpul stock and forend which came with the gun.

    These are all the parts:

    And the completed picts:

Mesa Tactical shell carrier and Magpul SGA Sling mount (which is made to fit the SGA stock).

The switch for the Surefire light mounted with the Magpul MOE illumination kit.

The Surefire M300A Mini Scout light mounted with the Magpul illumination kit.

Uncle Mike's magazine cap super swivel sling mount. I'm not sure if I'm going to use the single point or two point sling set up - can go either way using the Magpul MS3 sling.

Very nice looking shotgun. Im a huge magpul fan. There's a shotgun thread somewhere with tons of links to places like scattergun tech etc.

I'm thinking a push-button spring loaded bayonet is the ONLY thing missing!

    Nice!

Some would have had to pay someone to do that.

At one point while trying to get the "Chicago" screw through for the Shell Carrier, I thought I might be one of them. :)

On mine the front hole (through the trigger assembly) had a semi-round spring fastener securing the hollow pin the screw needed to go through. The way the fastener sat it blocked part of the hole. I ended up filing down one section on the Chicago screw to make a bevel which would push the fastener apart and let the screw slide past.

Other than that (and not having the Allen wrench for the stock) it all went pretty smooth.

I saw a 870 Magpul Edition in a local shop (won't say which one) about 2 months ago when I bought my 590A1. They were asking nearly $700. I didn't see where they were getting $700 out of a 870 Express Tactical with some Magpul Furniture but hey. I'm sure somebody bought it. Hell. For all I know, maybe it was you....=)

    Looks nice though.

By the way, what safe is that?

The safe is a Sentry Safe HDC11E Home Defense Center. For my needs it's perfect.

As for the base gun I paid over $800, plus FFL transfer since I could not find it (or anything similar) locally. The particular model (before the stuff I added) included: XS White Dot Front Sight, XS Ghost Ring Rear Sight, plus the Magpul stock & forend. The entire receiver is in black Cerakote, and is drilled & tapped. Includes a Remington Tactical Choke Tube and a 6 shell extended magazine.

The extras I installed ran another $400+. So it's a pretty expensive shotgun at the end of the day. :)

It was worth it to me for what will be my primary home defense weapon.

I did the exact same thing to mine... just a different light (620c) and no sling yet.

Ordered mine through buds for $150 less than I could find it locally (not naming names... pretty big local place that isn't an IP). Used the money I saved on a light upgrade.

Pictures over in the shotgun porn thread.
