Most Kabar's are sold on Amazon and way cheap compared to being sold in a box store. Ive bought a few for $50. For that price you could afford to buy a couple to take with you. Additionally they are a legend for a reason, they really are tough as hell. I know some complain the 1055 steal is prone to rust but it also takes and holds an edge better than most. Mine have never rusted personally, though they might not be a great dive knife...they are good for pretty much everything else. I have a bunch of knives and if I had to pick just one it would be a Kabar. Theres just no need to spend the ridiculous amount of money some companies want for their knives.

    I'll second the ESEE-5. I have a 5 and a 3, 3 is a nice small knife but the esee5 is as this as a prybar! 1095 steel

Also I know Jeff Randall (trained with him in Peru) and his product is as good as his character, I'm pretty sure their company offers a discount for mil/le.
