If you ever want to sleep on a battleship, I believe the New Jersey still has father/sons sleep overs.Concerning Patriots Point, I was fortunate enough to go to the Medal of Honor dinner and dedication when they opened the MOH Museum on the USS Yorktown. We got tickets thru my wife's co-worker who was on the board, even got VIP passes to the pre dinner cocktail party - I'm in a room with 150 people having a drink, and half are wearing the blue ribbon around their neck. I truly think it was the most humbling and impressive experience in my life
A couple years later got to sleep on the Yorktown with my sons Boy Scout troop. They lock you on board after 10 pm. Had to sleep on Navy bunk beds with maybe 18" of clearance. Between the AC unit that was as loud as a weed-hacker as it cycled on/off every 15 minutes, and a couple of fathers who I think snored even louder, maybe got about an hour's sleep that night . The planes from WWII on and Apollo 8 capsule (the Yorktown recovered the A-8, first time man left the earth's orbit and went around the moon, they gave the mission a 33% success rate - scary and impressive) made it all worth while
