    Hi,

I think it was in the wrong section, so this is a re post......

I recently moved to MD and am not a current gun owner. I recently took the required safety class online and have my certificate. I am interested in a Springfield XD9, but with the law changing, there's not much out there. Any ideas where I could look in the next 2 days?
    Thanks,
    Jim

    Welcome to MD.

If you moved from CT, CA, NJ or NY you know what your in for. If not, there are several good FAQ threads on the new law. Check out the industry partners section and you'll probably find threads on store hours, buzzer beater opportunities, etc.

If you can find ANY handgun or other regulated firearm, you may want to buy it for the following reason: Not sure if you'd qualify because you'll take possession post-10/1 but owing a regulated firearm pre-10/1 will exempt you from the training component of the law (several hours) post-10/1. Again, I'm not sure if you would have had to receive the pistol to get grandfathered in. I took care of my wish list months ago, so I'm rusty on the deadline technicalities.

There are lots of gun stores with lots of guns still....i think. I think accurate pawn had nice selection of handguns, last time i was there a month ago...9 mm bullets are hard to come by these days, if I were you i would look at the mp sheilds too, but thats even probably harder to find before 10/1... My opinion, dont be so fixed on xd9 and get yo self a 1911

Welcome! I will echo - take yourself to Duffy's by any means necessary. Several other IPs listed here are worthy, but Vince and the gang have the right stuff.

Welcome to Maryland and the forum, lots to learn, this is a fun time to be here. I'd ask you to set and take a look around but this is no time to wait around, it's go go go time like the man said "by any means...ride"

Welcome to Maryland. Your wallet will lose much weight. Be careful, a strong breeze and you will be chasing your wallet down the street.

I have XD 9s in stock, 4" & 5". We open at noon tomorrow.

Made it there by 5 after leaving work early. Glad I went, and Gladder they were open.
Hats off to the staff for doing all they can before the "deadline"
They were very courteous and I got what I "think" I needed.
