Anyone have any experience with this one?

Looking to mount on a PWS MK114; this redhead is light weight.:D Like to keep it as close as I can to that.

I have an Aimpoint T2 and an Eotech EXPS 2 and they are good but I seek magnification and those ride on other rigs for now.
I have a Bushnell 1x4 FFP on another rig. While I like the Bushnell's reticle I'm looking for some strange.
I have a Nightforce SHV 4-16, and a Vortex PST II 5-25 on 308 and 30.06 rigs respectively. I like both but give the edge to Nightforce based on what I see.

I prefer FFP and MIL over MOA as all of the above scopes are MIL. Searched and searched, read and read. Thought I'd see what MDS has to say about this.

A heavy LaRue mount with an NX8 is a waste. Get a light-weight mount (Aero, Scalarworks, whatever) and use offset BUIS if backup sights are a requirement.

Most of the 3gun world moved away from the NX8 due to a so-so eyebox and a questionable value proposition; the Razor Gen2E is a lot cheaper, and the Razor Gen3 is not all that much more expensive.

I have an NX8 1-8 I’ve been running and really like it. Eyebox thing is a little overblown. In comparison to a razor it isn’t as forgiving. Scope is lighter though. You do very much get used to it after using it and it becomes no problem. I wouldn’t get the one with the larue mount. Wouldn’t use aero either but you could use an adm titanium mount or any number of solid light mounts and make it worthwhile.

The one thing that I don’t like about it is the center dot is 1.5moa across. This makes precision shooting more difficult. Not impossible, but I’ve zeroed line to have the dot intersect in the center. I’ve shot it out to about 400yds and smacked a 8” plate with m193 ammo so it isn’t a huge issue. Can also shoot good groups with better ammo, but isn’t really ideal for that.

It is a great scope. I have a bit of a vortex aversion. Can also check out the trijicon offerings. I suggest them because they have also proven very robust, which is a primary desire of mine. Khales does have nicer glass and better fov but is also sfp and has some spotty QC in my research. Never used one so it’s just hearsay.

    Good luck
