Couple decades ago I bought a .30-06 Columbian Mauser from Springfield Sporters. After haggling with them to get the muzzle cover that I paid for, I kinda forgot about it in the closet. I resurrected it and found the barreled receiver, bolt, trigger guard group and -- of course -- muzzle cover were of a FN Model 1950 Columbian Mauser in .30-06. The receiver appears to have been sand blasted and then phosphated. The stock and most everything else, however, were of a Spanish M43 or M44 8mm Mauser -- depends on whose description you read -- except the rear barrel band, which appears to homemade -- and the stock, although in nice condition, really doesn't fit very well. Obviously cobbled together. What can I do with this beast?
