My first thought was why? but it does look pretty cool, and you could keep the good ergonomics and trigger from a good ar. I'm guessing they couldn't sell a full package with a lower and have it be considered not a firearm right?

They probably can if the lower can't be attached to a standard upper.

It triggers the "thing that goes up" crowd. When they pass an AWB (but before it's overturned) you can walk around with this that has all the evil features.

I'm sure they could do it in that case but thats less fun. Since their whole thing is to be able to use it on a lower you already have I'm guessing there wouldnt be much point in making a proprietary ar lower that no other centerfire uppers would work on.
