Wish I had seen this during the MDGunGrab fight.

    Link to PDF NYPD report:
    http://www.nyc.gov/html/nypd/downlo...ypd_annual_firearms_discharge_report_2011.pdf

A 102 page report on data concerning 2011, when there were 34 intentional shootings against adversaries. I found PDF pages 41-42 most relevant.

Cribbing an expert's analysis (with his OK) :

"The most recently released NYPD SOP-9 "Annual Firearms Discharge Report" data from 2011 document that 7 rounds or less were fired in 65% of NYPD OIS incidents, while in 35% of cases officers needed to fire more than 7 shots to stop the threat. Interestingly in 29% of the incidents, more than 10 shots were required to end the violent encounter."

I would prefer not to bet my family's lives on the idea of "best 2 out of 3" (I.e., a 1 in 3 chance you will "need" more than ten rounds to stop a threat). Thanks MD. Um, Excuse me, but CDNN is having a standard capacity magazine sale right now. . . See you later...

Just curious - will OweMally's body guards be subject to the mag count restriction or will this be another case of ruling class elite herding the sheeple and living outside the laws used to better control the masses????!!!!!!

They should be. I never heard of any exemption to the mag limits.

Not sure how far it would be stretched, but for the "elite" I'd imagine pretty far. Didn't most of these new safety provisions exclude members of active duty military, law enforcement and security companies?

    Juuuuust over the line
I found these reports way back, and actually used some of the data in testimony against the mag limit bill they split out in the earlier scattershot approach. I actually put 20 years worth of data (about the time they switched from revolvers to semiautos) into a spreadsheet and found out that the average number of shots was 14.3 to stop ONE bad guy over this period.
