BO's recommendations includes:Eliminate restrictions that force the ATF to authorize importation of dangerousweapons simply because of their age:

ATF is required to authorize the importation certain “curio or relic” firearms, and outdated regulations include all firearms manuactured morethan 50 years ago in the defnition of “curio or relic.” But today, firearms manufactured more than 50 years ago include large numbers of semiautomatic military-surplus rifes, some of which are easily convertible into machine guns or otherwise appealing for use in crime. Congress shouldget rid of restrictions that prevent ATF from changing this defnition, enabling ATF to ensure that firearms imported as curios or relics are actually of interest as collectibles, rather than letting these rules be used as a way to acquire fully functional and powerful military weapons.

    what assholes.

this is not one of his executive orders however im pretty sure.

thankfully this requires action by congress, its just one of his recommendations.

it says right there "Congress should get rid of restrictions that prevent ATF from changing this definition"

Yup. I'm constantly amazed at the homies in downtown B'more brazenly parading around with their Nagoya carbine's slung over their shoulders.

Considering that these jackasses can't tell the difference between an assault rifle and a civilian legal semi auto clone it shouldn't surprise anyone that they're in a snit. They think we'll be able to purchase full auto G3s, FALs, etc.
But I expect this from the gun-grabbers. What really ticks me off is the timid support we get from "pro-gun" politicians. When Republicans held control of Congress and the WH did they roll back any of the executive orders issued by Pappy Bush and Klinton, like the import ban on "assault rifles" or items from Russia & China (no more SKS or SVTs for you!)? No. They sat on their hands, spending zero political capital to help us. But they're the first with hands out asking for our support come election time. Makes it so we slowly lose ground to the gun-grabbers when they come to power because they're not shy about throwing around their power to get what they want. When was the last time you saw Republicans move this fast to pass pro-gun legislation?

Exactly, even bolt action, lever action, and single shot breechloaders all started as military technology.

Its all a red herring arguement.

We could repeal 100% of gun laws and crime wouldnt change a bit, it may even go down.

Keep the heat on congress folks, the Obama propaganda machine is in full swing. We need to make it clear to these bastards that we won't tolerate restrictions on ANY firearms, modern or C&R.
