Where in the world does this term come from? It seems to be used when referring to a reproduction firearm. I've also seen "repo" used for the same purpose. Is there any rhyme or reason for using these abbreviations that I am missing?

I am now going to take my medications...

Don't know if it's true or not, but I heard the extra "p" is there for parts... repo(reproduction) + p(parts) = repop.

Actually, I believe that "repro" is the abbreviation generally used for "reproduction", and "repo" is the term used for "repossession". I only make this distinction so that you don't have your bayonet accidentally towed away and impounded.
