Picked up a P365 and noticed my trigger finger rides all the way to the top of the trigger, I guess because I'm scrunching up my hands. There's a notch at the top of the trigger and it sometimes pinches my finger when it resets. This is all when dry firing as I just got it yesterday and haven't shot it yet. I'm wondering if anyone experienced this same thing and if the flat trigger may be a fix.

I have one and haven’t experienced that problem. My hand is XL in most gloves.

Just dry fired and can easily see how it can happen. I do not put much finger in the trigger guard it and my finger rest at the bottom of the trigger. I could see a flat trigger helping you

I fired two different 365s a week or so ago - a standard in an XL grip module, and a Macro - I think the Macro had the flat trigger. One of them did, I just can remember which one.

I didn't experience that at all - it was markedly more comfortable to shoot than the Glock 43.

Was that at a range or with some buddies. I’m thinking about moving up to a XL with a dot for winter clothes
    Thanks

That was at a private range with a buddy of mine. He owns both. Originally he just had the 365, but he didn't like the 12 round mags because he felt his hand was getting pinched on fast mag changes with the junction at the short grip, so he got the XL grip module and the corresponding mags.

In any case, we were able to kinda blast at will - it was just he and I with a bunch of steel targets and gongs arranged in an arc. I got the opportunity to shoot as fast or slow as I wanted, so at times I was mag-dumping at a gong. I had a bunch of range fodder reloads that I brought so we weren't even counting rounds, we were just shooting to see how the pistol functioned and how accurate we were in a practical way.

Getting back to the "XL" he had, it was the standard 365 slide and barrel on the XL grip module, so the barrel itself was actually the same length as on the Macro, which I think is shorter than the actual XL version. Either way, both guns were very accurate, although the Macro was easier to control for follow-up shots due to the longer grip. It seemed like the Macro with the 17 round mag was like a bottomless mag. We'd be ripping along thinking, "man, I must be getting close to the end of this mag," but we'd have about 5 rounds left.

Neither one of them pinched my finger and I was shooting bare-handed.

I haven’t had that issue with a P365x which comes with the flat trigger. Whether dry firing or actual shooting.

I’ve only fondled the standard P365 in the store so not much experience with the curved trigger.

Yes, come over to the dot side...

Finally got the Mrs. her p365. Thanks for all your help and others! She did well at the range.

Speaking of the dot side...I have astigmatism like an a-hole and red dots are not circular. Do you think/know if it matters if I'm able to ignore it? Maybe use the smallest dot possible or?... just gouge my eyes out and get cybernetics.

astigmatisms are pretty common at least to some degree. i have it too. annoying but doesnt affect my accuracy with a pistol or shotgun enough to notice a difference. I only notice it when i am playing with it. kinda like a tongue...

Maybe on a longer shot requiring more accuracy like a AR it would matter more.

I think much depends on the type and degree of the astigmatism.

Have you ever looked through a Trijicon RMR type 2, RMRcc, or SRO? I've had friends look through mine and found them to not be awful.

I got this when I had the curved trigger in my 365. I replaced the trigger with a factory flat trigger and the pinch went away.

Green gets all starry-ish as well. It's not the color. A perfect circle is not needed to see where on center mass the round is going to land.
Once you free yourself from trying to shoot perfect quarter sized groups, you get more comfortable with solid self defense shooting habits.

You said “one ragged hole”. I’m still sore.

That's an interesting point. Here in central Maryland many of us are paper punchers and we get caught up trying to shoot tiny groups.

I had a great time shooting with my buddy back in Nebraska at his friend's personal range full of steel targets. At that point I was trying to shoot quickly and effectively, ringing steel center mass. I had a lot of fun, and it was a big confidence boost because I wasn't thinking about small, clean little groups - I was just trying to be effectively accurate.
