The problem is the mags - can't get them with the gun, so they have to be sourced out of state, and Sig mags cost a small fortune.

In general I like the other iterations of the Sig p365 as a carry gun - more rounds is always better than less, but I'd rather just get the gun with smaller mags and not have to deal with the PITA of trying to source additional standard capacity mags for it.
you get two 17 round mags with the gun. They don't sell you the mags. They give them away taken apart.

Here is my version of the macro. I much prefer the added length on the grip. Ill have to take it to the range soon but points well and seems to be a winner here.

The downside is that it doesn't fit the 365XL holsters that I have.

Looks a lot like mine. I have to get some mags for it now.

The X Macro has been temporarily removed from the MD roster and will not be approved until 10/24/22. Many people, myself included, have already submitted paperwork and have been informed that our forms have to be resubmitted after that date. I had originally submitted on 10/13/22, so now my submission has turned into a 14+ day waiting period.

Are you sure it was ever on the list. To my knowledge it wasn’t but stores were selling it because 365X was on the slide and ether didn’t realize or ignored that is a different gun from the 365 X macro.

No it was never on the roster.

Word is they may make an example of some dealers for selling it when it was not on the roster. It is easy to say "well it looks like a P365X so I thought it was good to go" but as a dealer it is our job to know which guns are legal to sale and which ones are not. Ignorance is not an excuse.

    Agree
And with all the promotions of a new firearm it’s really not that hard to know.

I was told by a seller that an application to be put on the roster wasn’t necessary because it was basically a 365 with only cosmetic changes. I don’t know how the rules are. I’m a buyer, not a seller! I figured if they could sell one to me, I was good to go.

They all have to be on the roster. The difference is that similar models from the same manufacturer are evaluated without having to submit a pistol. After it is evaluated, it is placed on the roster.

I haven't looked at the Colt 1911 section of the roster but at one time, it said 1911 and ALL for the models since the form and function was the same no matter what they looked like.

My friends at GBRS Group has Macro holsters in stock(for now). These are made by Priority 1 and they are legit.

The handgun roster for the new sig pistols like this is dumb AF. The regulated part is the FCU which is shared by the P365 pistol.

The roster rules really do not deal well with guns like this. As you say, the actual serialized portion of the gun is already on there, and the gun itself only has "365X" on the slide. I guess they're hanging on to the model being "P365XCA" on the box. But the roster lists "P365X Macro", which is none of the above.

Eventually, they're gonna fine the wrong person and this is gonna go to court again. :P

At least it isn't CA Gun Roster which has limits on how many guns can be on it and manufacturers have to pay to have their guns on it. And once a manufacturer hits the limit they have decide which one comes off.

I also think many manufacturers will start going a similar route as the Sig with modular guns.

Yes, at least in MD, it's mostly just a waiting game. I've probably put six guns on the roster by this point... it's faster than most form 4s.

If timed right you can get it approved quick. Why remind me of form 4s :tantrum:
