    Wasn't it 20 round limit?
MD certainly had that limit before October 2013, but I didn't own a firearm during the 1994-2004 federal ban period, so I don't know. Here's an excerpt from the wiki link ...

The Federal Assault Weapons Ban of 1993 included a ban on magazines capable of holding more than ten rounds of ammunition. The Public Safety and Recreational Firearms Use Protection Act, commonly called the assault weapons ban (AWB), was enacted in September 1994. The ban, including its ban on magazines capable of holding more than ten rounds of ammunition, became defunct (expired) in September 2004 per a sunset provision. Attempts to renew the ban have failed on the federal level.

I've been trying to place an order with Bravo Company for three days and their checkout system is jacked up. :mad54:

Is this for an item which needs to go to an FFL? Checkout on a non-FFL item worked fine for me Sunday, and it was delivered Tuesday. Quickest shipping I've encountered recently. A Monday order from another large vendor has yet to get a tracking number.

Well in that event, enjoy and welcome back!

You're a bit ahead of me, but not much! ;) There's still a few of us disciples here who are known to fill a bench for weekly services at the church of wood is good and blue is better.

Thanks for the welcome! My buddy and I used to successfully hitchhike to our shooting/hunting areas carrying long guns. Don't think that would fly too well now. :sad20:

I must be wrong then. I must be confusing that with something Md had going. I'll have to check my dates when I get home. I know that when I bought my RRA AR (date?) many moons ago, it only came with a 20 rounder. I just can't remember what year I bought it. Thanks fidelity.:)

SGammo is one of my go to sites also and you could barely use their site Sunday afternoon it was so busy. I got my order in by 7AM but went back later thinking I should get more. Arriving today...sorry UPS guy :D

Hopefully, everyone took Jimbob's advice earlier in June.

AR lowers are state regulated. They require 77R and a 7 day wait.

You should buy one. That's very cheap insurance.

Thanks for the info! I'll start looking in to them and if a ban looks like it is coming, invest in one. Just in case.

Also, not really a panic buy, more of a "father's day sales" buy, but picked up a brick of Aguila .22lr and 2 boxes of some wolf .308 to try out in my bolt-action for some cheap paper punching

I have steadily been increasing my ammo stores on the notion that when it dries up, I'll have plenty on hand to keep shooting....

Knowing myself however, I will probably never shoot it because if it dries up, I won't be able to get more.

    The classic hoarder problem.

    Or trade. :innocent0
I paid a visit to TomKat a few days ago and my wallet was lighter (and the car a bit heavier) on the return trip.

Ditto on the shoot or save conundrum, too.

I'm going to panic load a couple thousand rounds of 5.56 over the next week or so.

What I've seen from the panic buys has been that low-end stuff goes for big $$. Higher-quality items stay stable. Back when everybody was wringing their hands over .22 shortages, match .22LR was readily available at normal prices. Ditto for ARs.

AR rifles I am good on. I even have an AR Lower still unbuilt, albeit post 2013.

Ammo is where I am concerned. Should have piled it higher and deeper, but didn't. Can only get so much stuff past the wife.

I have TONS of brass however. Thinking reloading is in my future.

I'm willing to teach you how to reload, if you would like. I'll even do one better for you. Bring all the components needed for rolling your own (brass, bullets, primers, and powder) and you can make your own and take them home with you that day. I'm currently set up for .40, 223/556, 300BLK, and 308. If you are wanting to load any of those 4 calibers to learn, I've got you covered. If you want to load a caliber other than those 4, I can still teach you how to reload with those calibers, because the concepts are all the same.

I think a potential irony is that by late 2016/early 2017, we might have reasonably priced 22LR readily available, but lots of other stuff gone.

Stopped at Cabelas on my way back from the beach. Plenty of mags, reloading powder, bullets, and guns. Shelves full of everything except low cost .22LR. All of the .22LR left was match grade at ~$.20/rd.

    Is it a panic purchase?

I was walking by the Gun/Ammo section of my local Walmart looking for 22lr and the guy behind the counter was unboxing a Savage Axis 223 with an accu-trigger and a weaver ballistic scope. I looked at it and asked him how much? '$189', he replied. 'Can you double check that?', I asked again. He said, 'Normally $389, but for some reason this is one of the 'roll back the prices' rifles, so it's $189'. I bought it!

It took an hour to get through the paper work, mostly waiting for the assistant manager to show up so that I could take the 'walk of shame' (being escorted by the manager) out of the store with the rifle.

    Did I panic?

Probably, when you thought they might renege on the price. Good score!
