Panic buy starting?

I was walking by the Gun/Ammo section of my local Walmart looking for 22lr and the guy behind the counter was unboxing a Savage Axis 223 with an accu-trigger and a weaver ballistic scope. I looked at it and asked him how much? '$189', he replied. 'Can you double check that?', I asked again. He said, 'Normally $389, but for some reason this is one of the 'roll back the prices' rifles, so it's $189'. I bought it!

It took an hour to get through the paper work, mostly waiting for the assistant manager to show up so that I could take the 'walk of shame' (being escorted by the manager) out of the store with the rifle.

Did I panic?

No. But you should commit to selling that rifle to me for $200, and then roll back and buy every other one they have.

Given the recent events it seems like some online ammo retailers like SGAMMO are starting to sell out of inventory and quoting long shipping delays, while others have not. Is this the start of another "panic buy"?

I'm normally the guy looking around at the panic people like they are freaking nuts.

Unfortunately, due to the political climate, I can see a ban or eroding of rights coming soon.

I started late last year and on into this year purchasing guns and ammo. After the purchases made last week on a gun and this weekend on ammo, I finally feel "okay" with my stock.

I even joined a range close to the house to go shooting.

Far as ammo, I have maybe one or two medium to large purchases... I'm hoping to see some sales over 4th of july.

I normally purchase from Freedom Munitions, an online store, and from Walmart (the walmart I visit always seem to have plenty of ammo in stock. Not sure why).
