    .
Last Monday, February 5, 2018, two members of the firearms community were arrested while performing protest activities on the public sidewalks in front of Lawyers Mall on the Annapolis State House grounds, as they have done in the same spot consistently for the past three sessions of the General Assembly. They were handcuffed, taken to the Annapolis Police Department station, processed, ticketed and released within a couple of hours; they received additional tickets related to the original incident when they met with the Maryland Capitol Police the very next day. As of this notice, the Maryland Capitol Police has made a request to the Anne Arundel County State's Attorney to drop all charges.

This incident has a chilling effect on 1st Amendment-protected activity - peaceful assembly and redress of grievances. Those involved, and other members of the firearms community, are making plans to assemble in protest of this infringement of 1st Amendment-protected civil liberties again this coming Monday evening, February 12, 2018, in the same location as the arrests.

MSRPA believes in the defense of the entirety of the Constitution and its attendant amendments; if any of our members plan to attend of their own accord, please be cognizant that there may be additional encounters with law enforcement and, based on last Monday's experience, there exists a possibility of arrest related to activities in the area performed by peaceful protesters - please plan accordingly for the safety of any wishing to participate.

    Warmest regards,

    Mike Doherty
2nd Vice President - Legislative Affairs

Is there parking for a dually 3500 crew cab 8 foot bed?

I am in the same boat minus the daully. We hail from the same area and I have 1 seat left if you want to catch a ride. I'm leaving at 4:15 and hitting MB for meet and greet/dinner.

    Hey Rack,
idea - where to line up / general area map you made up posted in a couple places? ie. each garage I'm curious how many unfamiliar with MDS will be showing up. I will be telling people they will learn from the forum and to jump onboard, closing in on 24K members!

Reposting the pre-Picket plan on each new page for the next 28 hours.

Fall into a SINGLE FILE LINE on the sidewalk in front of the House Office building starting at 7pm., as shown in red on the sketch below.

Our team will distribute our printed signs to you in this line, and we will start the WALKING Picket when our leaders at the front give the signal.

Someone should give Mission BBQ a heads up to put more pork on the fire.

Calls have been made to both locations, thanks!

Mission BBQ not a true fast food restaurant so please make plans to detour to someplace else for a quick bite to eat in the event that you see a line out the door at Mission BBQ.

Our Patriot Picket core members will probably take up most of the tables at the City Dock Mission BBQ location, and there are no other “quick service” restaurants at City Dock except Subway on Main Street up near Church Circle.

I would advise that you check the Mission BBQ on Somerville Road first. Overflow can go to Union Jack’s Pub just across Somerville Road from Mission BBQ, or to the McDonalds, Wendy’s and Burger King on West Street 1/2 mile east of where Route 2 crosses West Street (Route 450).

For anyone who had their heart set on wearing a piece of tape across their mouth to protest our silencing, that is OPTIONAL.

I and most others will forgo the tape as we feel our hundreds of signs (below) will carry our full message:

Please add me to the list. I will be at the rally. Have an appointment with Nuclear Med at Walter Read Monday afternoon. Depending on the extensiveness of the drugs they plan on using, may not be able to legally drive for 24 to 48 hrs, but my good and better half has agreed to drive and walk with us.

On the City Dock - there is a Moe's Burritos and a Chipotle, both within steps of MBBQ. You can also get a slab of pizza to go over at Mangia.

Out at Somerville, there is a burger place in the same strip as well as an Einstein's Bagels.

I am confident that non-MDS members arriving at that intersection will see our single file line on the sidewalk and converge on it.

I hereby deputize you all to strike up conversations with anyone walking with you toward our sidewalk meet-up, brief them on the plan, and take them under your wing.

If they stick with the current "story" that the police officers did this with no "orders" then every officer involved, six cars worth plus supervisors, should be summarily dismissed for cause and loose all their benefits including having pensions forfeited. However, if as we suspect they were coerced by people in power either elected or appointed, then if the officers involved give full and honest disclosure and testify as to what happened then disciplinary actions with appropriate retraining would be in order. The Maryland Legislature MUST take steps to insure this type of politically motivated police abuse can never happen again in the "FREE STATE"! There should be a mechanism for any public employee to report coercion without fear of retaliation.

Is it just coincidence that "The Constitution of the State of Maryland, 1864" Resides in Volume 666 in the Maryland State Archives?

I believe not all of the officers involved were MCP, Annapolis or Anne Arundel PD were part of the back-up. So some of those that responded, may not have been in on the "plan", but regardless.....

    PATRIOT PICKET after-party:

We won’t all be able to eat together but we can sure hangout together at the very roomy UNION JACK’S PUB on Somerville Road (just across from the Mission BBQ Parole Center locale).

For a brief time this is where you can get your picture taken with my Guest of Honor Dick Heller, who will be on the Picket with us.

Yes, that Dick Heller—the legendary winning plaintiff in “District of Columbia vs. Heller” in 2008, the court victory known to all of us as the “Heller case”.

    See you there!
