My son is building an AR- don't ask me why, but he bought a 14" barrel. So we need to install and pin a FSB and install and permanently pin a muzzle brake/flash suppressor.

I looked at ADCO and the cost for both procedures would run around $250-280. Way more than the barrel is worth.

Besides selling the barrel, which has been ceracoated in FDE and buying a new 16" barrel with the FSB already installed, what options are there? or ideas? anyone around Maryland or Northern VA who does that, or has the tools/jigs to do it?

i have drilled and pinned a low profile gas block that had set screws and kept it form moving when drilling. start with an end mill to get a flat surface to drill on and then make sure your level. i dont know if this is ideal but it worked great and now my gas block is pinned! might have to buy a free float handguard.
