PNTC says the DMR Championship will require 200 rounds at a minimum. Do you know if it is a good rule of thumb to double or triple the estimated minimum round count in the PNTC DMR competitions? It's a two day event with 10 stages so 200 rounds seems like a low estimate. My guess is a safe number is 500 rounds.

    Thanks,
    Eric

Did you ever get and answer to this?

It is a tough call. It will have a lot do with the weather/wind and the shooter. Last year there were no stages that required 20 hits. We have had stages that required 15 hits but that is rare. Some stages are limited shots (like the mover last year. X number of passes, two shots per pass)

It will likely be scored time plus penalties. Going to war with a target or four will cost ammo. Thankfully there are Par times.

Averaging 50 rounds a stage would be quite high in my experience. That would be dumping five Maryland Mags per stage! (sarcasm)

I shot this match last year and didn't even shoot 200 rounds. I think 300 would be more then enough but you might want to email the match director just to be safe.

The folk that only brought 200 last year ran out. Those that had it made it rain. There are two schools of thought at this match actual precision low round count to hit targets, or spray lead and hope for a hit.

Last year the placing was pretty much 50/50 between the two, with the winner doing a hybrid of both.
