    Rockzilla,

Just wanted to say thanks for the heads up. Picked up some Green Dot and Power Pistol from Wideners. Also a few thousand primers.

Yeah, Thanks Rock, through research buying online seems expensive, please school me if necessary. Has a group buy been considered or attempted ... well here in MD?

I may be way out of line .

The hazmat fee does add to the price.

But a group buy does not help much, as if you buy 1 pound cans, most places will ship only 10 per package. Although some places only charge one hazmat for the entire order. They will ship 4x 8 pound jugs in one package

The other issue is finding powders that enough people want, in stock at the same place, at the same time. And putting together the buy while it is still in stock.

I have done orders with some close friends. But even then, it was not easy, as things went in and out of stock.

And lastly, with a group buy, is dealing with the money. A moderately large order of powder is a large chunk of change someone has to fork out.

Better, IMO, is if you find a popular powder, buy more than you need, and then sell to fellow MDSers at what it cost you to get.

I'm sure this has been mentioned before: If you order powder online at BassPro you can have it shipped directly to the store and avoid the hazmat fee. It takes about two weeks though.

    This... above...

Sorry guys..no powders in this post..

All I will say is "if" you buy in quantity and are a regular customer "they" will waive the HM fee so therefore you only pay for shipping, some people were looking for some 231 and we purchased a "few" lbs. Group buy, it's your call.

Also thanks Guys and your welcome. I try to keep my eyes open for the "harder to get" powders we all know what they are:)

A buddy just received his delivery of 32lbs. of Clays powder. Needless to say he's ecstatic. His Christmas wish came true. And he's Jewish.

PS. He's Not hoarding. He shoots that much.

Did you notice if they had any Accurate powder?

    Thanks,

    John

They carry Accurate but I don't know if they had any in stock. I've never used it. My friend was able to call them and have them hold a container of powder for pickup later THAT DAY. So he didn't make the trip for nothing. If you're looking for something specific that's what I would do. You can also try Richland's which is 10 miles from Shyda's. I guess I should've taken a picture of what they had.

Seemed that way when we were there in October. All the common standard gauge shotshell powders were empty, Red dot, Claydot.

Didn't see any Hodgdon Clays on the other shelf either

Clays is starting to come back, VERY slowly.

It is not hard to find because of buying/hoarding, but the Australian company that makes the powder, had an "ignition event" in their drying house. Not a fire mind you, an "ignition event."

Production just restarted last year, mid to late summer.

Powder Valley has HP-38 (exactly the same powder at WW231) in stock.

They had some 8# jugs of Clays yesterday, but gone today. :(

Just left BPS. I will just say you are probably better off going to Gettysburg tomorrow....not too much on the shelf.

    Some powders of interest:

    BL-C2
    LEVERevolution
    800X
    AR-Comp
    Win WST

Managed to snag some CCI 209M primers as well.
